KYNS (1340 AM, B93.7) is a radio station broadcasting a soft adult contemporary format. Licensed to San Luis Obispo, California, USA, it serves the San Luis Obispo area. The station is currently owned by Martha Fahnoe, through licensee Dimes Media Corporation.

History

Former branding

1340AM has been identified with previous call letters, KGLO, sometimes pronounced "K-GLOW" in the 1980s & 90s. After its local owners sold it to Mapleton Communications in 1997, the calls were changed to KYNS, which stands for "your news station." It aired programming provided by the Air America network until Air America's demise in January 2010. The station switched to all news in January 2013.

On November 26, 2013, the station's all-news format was dropped and began stunting Christmas music as "Christmas 93.7"; public radio station KCLU-AM in Santa Barbara is the only station left in the Central Coast continuing with its all-news format. On December 26th, the station introduced a Soft AC format with the branding "B93.7".[1]

Mapleton Communications sold KYNS and sister stations KPYG, KWWV, KXDZ, and KXTZ to Martha Fahnoe's Dimes Media Corporation for $1 million; the sale closed on January 15, 2015.
