Léman International School - Chengdu (LIS; Chinese: 成都乐盟国际学校[1]) is an international school at 1080# Da'an Road, Zhengxing County, Tianfu New Area, Chengdu. A part of the Nord Anglia Education (NAE) network,[2] it serves levels Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12.[3] It used to be a part of the Meritas school network.[4]
History
The school was opened in 2009.[5] The total investment of the school is about 2 million RMB. The school was approved as the international school for foreigners by the Chinese Ministry of Education in December 2011.[6] The school became part of the Nord Anglia Education family of schools in 2015 after NAE acquired it from Meritas LLC . Nord Anglia Education has 42 international schools around the world in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and America. These independent international schools teach over 34,000 pupils worldwide.
Campus and location
The school's campus is about 50 acres, which will eventually house about 1,000 students.[7]

Although facilities are superior to those of other international schools in Chengdu, some argue that these facilities are badly maintained and are degrading quickly.

Curriculum
Léman International School - Chengdu has studdents from 30 different countries and uses International Primary Curriculum[8] (IPC) for early years and primary school. The IPC is currently adopted by 1000 schools in 65 countries. The Middle School is based upon the extended version of the IPC known as the International Middle Years Curriculum[9] (IMYC). Grades 9 and 10 have a pre-IB/pre-AP curriculum with high level academics being the focus. The school offers IB Diploma for Grade 11 and 12. In August 2014, the school received authorization from the International Baccalaureate programme[10] and has its first graduating class in 2016 consisting of 3 students. Léman International School also has compulsory music performance participation.[11]
The school includes a section for German students and French students.

Global Campus to allow students from students from other NAE schools all over world to communicate and work together.
Music program that Juilliard School specially designed and worked out for NAE schools - The Juilliard-Nord Anglia Performing Arts Programme.
Cross country, swim meet, sports tournaments at Chengdu International Schools Association(CISA);
Other themed events such as Literacy Week, Numeracy Week, International Day,[12] Concert and etc.
Extra-curricular activities
The school offers three obligatory sessions of clubs (also called after school activities) a school year which offer lots of activities for students during Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Clubs include a range of sport, dance, languages, science, photography, gardening, swimming, tennis, martial arts, a range of music groups and many more.
Accreditations
Léman International School - Chengdu is accredited to offer the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) and an accredited test center for SAT.
The school is accredited the Association of China and Mongolian International Schools(ACAMIS), and has recently experienced the second positive joint visit from Council of International Schools (CIS) and New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).
Community
The school has a Léman Family Association (LFA) which organises a lot of social events during the school year including the Parent and Teacher Christmas Dinner, Christmas Bazaar. They also have a New Parent Programme who organise events and information sessions for new families to the school.
The school also established a Room Parent networking for parents to get involved in school life, with one Room Parent responsible for one particular class. Room Parents provide information to the parents from the class teacher. They also help to organise volunteers needed for reading, as well as helping to arrange coffee mornings or other activities for parents to socialise and get to know one another.
