This is a list of Serbian Orthodox Christian monasteries.

The majority of Serbian Orthodox monasteries are in Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and to a lesser extent in Croatia.

Kosovo and Metohija

During the unrest in Kosovo and Metohija, 35 churches and monasteries were destroyed or seriously damaged by the Albanian Muslims. In total, 156 Serbian Orthodox churches and monasteries have been destroyed since June 1999. Many of the churches and monasteries dated back to the 12th, 13th and 14th centuries.[1]

before 1573 Located in Pljevlja. It was most likely built before 1465 on the site of an earlier wooden church. Its oldest found mention is from 1573.
Cetinje Monastery

1701–04 Located in Cetinje. It was built by Metropolitan Danilo I with stone from the nearby demolished monastery built by Ivan Crnojević in 1484. There are several relics held in the monastery, such as the remains of St. Peter of Cetinje, the (alleged) right hand of John the Baptist, particles of the True Cross, the icon of the Philermos Mother of God, the remains of Petar II Petrović-Njegoš (relocated), Royal Regalia of Serbian Emperor Stephen Uroš IV Dušan, among others.

Republic of Macedonia

The Macedonian Orthodox church declared autocephaly on July 19, 1967, from the Serbian church, a move which is not recognised by any of the churches of the Eastern Orthodox Communion, and since then, the Macedonian Orthodox Church is not in communion with any Orthodox Church.[13] Several Serbian monasteries are thus in control of the non-recognized MOC, in reality part of the Orthodox Ohrid Archbishopric. There are several cave monasteries (built into mountains and caves) of the Serbian Orthodox Church, including those of the Holy Annunciation, Kovilje, Crna Reka, Gornjak, Hermitage of St. Peter Koriški, Kađenica, Lukovo, Rsovci, Savina, in Serbia, and Ostrog monastery, in Montenegro.
