There are more than 140 botanical gardens in Australia, some like the Australian National Botanic Gardens have collections consisting entirely of Australian native and endemic species; most have a collection that include plants from around the world. There botanical gardens and arboreta in all states and territories of Australia, most are administered by local governments, some are privately owned.
