Michael Campanaro (born January 25, 1991) is an American football wide receiver and return specialist for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Ravens in the seventh round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He played college football at Wake Forest.

College career

Wake Forest

Campanaro attended Wake Forest University and was a redshirt his first season on campus. During his redshirt-Freshman season, Campanaro served primarily as a return specialist. Campanaro was awarded a starting job at receiver his Sophomore year, and produced 833 yards off of 73 receptions. Alongside Chris Givens, the two teamed up to be the most productive receiving tandem in Wake Forest history. Injuries sidelined Campanaro for multiple games his Junior and Senior seasons, however he still managed to finish 6th in ACC history for career receptions, hauling in 229 passes during his tenure at Wake Forest. His final receiving marks were 229 receptions for 2,506 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Professional career

Baltimore Ravens

2014 season

Campanaro was selected by the Ravens in the seventh round (218th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft. Campanaro scored his first career touchdown simultaneously recording his first career reception in Week 6 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on October 12, 2014.[1] He proved to be useful in the Ravens offense until injuring his hamstring in Week 8 against the Cincinnati Bengals. He returned from injury in Week 17 against the Cleveland Browns, recording one catch for 17 yards, in a 20-10 win.

2015 season

On October 1, 2015, Campanaro provided the first score of the game for the Ravens with a 9-yard rushing touchdown on an end-around play against Pittsburgh. He was placed on injured reserve on October 3 due to a herniated disc.[2]
