Miss Latin America 1998
Miss América Latina 1998 was the thirteenth international edition of the Miss América Latina contest, and the fifteenth overall. The final event was held on July 26, 1998 in Costa del Sol, El Salvador. At the conclusion of the pageant, Aline Resende of Brazil was crowned by outgoing titleholder, Jeannette Chávez of Costa Rica.[1] Miss América Latina 1999 was renamed Miss América Latina 2000, so that the titles could be postdated (a trend that held until 2006). For that reason, Resende's title was extended to Miss América Latina 1998-99.
