Miss Latin America 2009
Miss América Latina 2009 is the twenty-third international edition of the Miss América Latina contest. The final event was held on May 23, 2009 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. At the conclusion of the pageant, Johanna Solano of Costa Rica was crowned by outgoing titleholder, Daniele Sampaio of Italy.

Nations
- Chile last participated in 2004. Spain last participated in 2006. Argentina, the Netherlands, Puerto Rico and Uruguay last participated in 2007.
- Despite competing in 2008, Colombia, Honduras, Mexico, Panama and Portugal all failed to send delegates this year. This was only the second time that both Honduras and Mexico did not send a delegate.
- Nations that placed in 2008 as well were Brazil, Catalonia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Peru.
- Canada last placed in 2005. Canary Islands, Puerto Rico and the USA all last placed in 2006. Ecuador and Venezuela last placed in 2007.
