Miss Latin America 2000
Miss América Latina 2000 was the fourteenth international edition of the Miss América Latina contest, and the sixteenth overall. The final event was held on November 25, 1999 in Guatemala City, Guatemala. At the conclusion of the pageant, Dania Prince of Honduras was crowned by outgoing titleholder, Aline Resende of Brazil.[1]

Historical Significance
- Honduras earned its first and, as of 2011, only victory. Dania Prince also remains Honduras' only finalist.
- Colombia matched its highest placement (first runner-up) up to that point. It would not best that until Carolina Lemus won in 2010.
- Chile also placed in 1998.
- Honduras last placed in 1987.
- The Dominican Republic last placed in 1989.
- Nicaragua last placed in 1992, when Ana Sofia Pereira won.
- Guatemala last placed in 1993, when María Fernanda Morales won.
- Puerto Rico last placed in 1996.
