Sophia River
Sophia River is a minor feeder into Lake Mackintosh and the supply for the Mackintosh Power Station on the West Coast of the Australian State of Tasmania.
It joins the lake on the east side, near the south end.
The Sophia Tunnel feeder from Murchison Dam has its outlet near Sophia River.[1]
There is also a Sophia Adit, a small tunnel for maintaining the Sophia Tunnel.
Nearby Sophia Peak and Sophia Street in the town of Tullah share names with it, as does Sophia Point, near the town of Strahan.
It is also the name of the 1:100,000 map of the Cradle Mountain, Lake Mackintosh, Lake Lea and Rosebery area of western Tasmania.[2]
