Summit (formerly, Summit Switch)[2] is an unincorporated community in Kern County, California.[1]

It is located on the railroad 2 miles (3.2 km) east of Tehachapi,[2] at an elevation of 4039 feet (1231 m).[1]

It is at the summit of Tehachapi Pass in the Tehachapi Mountains.
