Talisid is a powerful guardinal, in the Dungeons & Dragons roleplaying game.
Creative origins
Guardinals debuted as several cards in the Blood Wars Card Game in 1995, including among them Duchess Callisto, Duke Lucan, Duke Windheir, Lord Hwhyn, Lord Rhanok, and Talisid the Leonal Prince.
Publication history
Talisid was first mentioned in second edition in the Planescape Monstrous Compendium Appendix II (1995).[1] He was also mentioned in the supplement Warriors of Heaven (1999).[2]
Talisid appeared in third edition in Book of Exalted Deeds (2003).[3]
Description
Talisid is the prince of the guardinals, a humanoid lion of demigod-level power. With his Five Companions he patrols Elysium and beyond, protecting Good and destroying Evil.
The Five Companions are usually temporary positions; however, Talisid has been their leader for thousands of years, so long that no-one can even remember the name of his predecessor. (The other four have all joined the group relatively recently.) He is not the formally agreed-upon leader (as the Companions are not a true government with any sort of hierarchy) but the others usually follow him out of admiration and respect. He does not permit pride or other emotions to interfere with his mission.
