AFC Mansfield is an English football club based in Forest Town, a suburb of Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. They play in the Northern Counties East Football League Division One, having won promotion from the Central Midlands Football League in 2014.[1]

History

AFC Mansfield was formed in June 2012 by three former directors of Mansfield Town [2] and was immediately given a place in the Central Midlands League.[3] The club finished second in the debut season before going one better the following year, winning the North Division and earning promotion to the Northern Counties East League Division One. They completed the League and Cup double that season by also lifting the Central Midlands League Cup.[4] AFC Mansfield also made their debut in the FA Vase in 2013–14. They won three ties before going out in the second round proper to a team which played two levels above them in the pyramid.[5] In the following season they reached the Fifth Round Proper before defeat by Tadcaster Albion.[6] They also reached the Semi Final of the NCEL League Cup in 2014-15.[7]
