The Atlanta Wildcats are an expansion team who plays in the American Basketball Association. Based in Brookhaven, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta, they began play in the 2012-13 ABA season. As of January 2013, their current record is 4-3 and are ranked 19th out of 32 teams in the league's top 32 rankings.[2]
The Wildcats' owner, William Payton IV, is a former United States Army officer who served in Operation Desert Storm, the United States invasion of Panama, the War in Afghanistan, and other major military operations.[3]
