China Railway or CR, full name China Railway Corporation (Chinese: 中国铁路总公司; pinyin: Zhōngguó Tiělù Zǒnggōngsī; literally: "China Railway General Company") is the national railway operator of the People's Republic of China,[2] under the regulation of the Ministry of Transport and the State Railways Administration. It used to be part of the now defunct Ministry of Railways.
China Railway operates rail commuter and freight transport via several smaller companies. China Railway previously had its own police force and court system, which was unique among the world's railways.
Logo
The original China Railway logo was designed by Chen Yuchang (Chinese: 陈玉昶) (1912-1969), as announced in the People's Daily on 22 January 1950.[3][4]
