Diggy Down is a song by Romanian dance/pop recording artist Inna and acts as the lead single for her self-titled studio album released in September 2015. The recording partially samples "Got It" by American electropop duo Marian Hill, for which they are also credited as a featured artist. "Diggy Down" was written by Play & Win and Vlad Lucan, while its production was handled by Marian Hill and Lucan. The song is heavy influenced by trap and EDM,[3] while its lyrics portray a love story between Inna 's unidentified boyfriend.

The song became one of Inna's most successful singles in her native country Romania. It peaked at number one on the Romania Airplay 100, with it spending six weeks atop.[4] An official music video for the song was directed late 2014 by Michael Mircea in Bucharest, Romania. It presents Inna and a backup dancer performing different moves in front of a black backdrop. The video asmassed more than 50 million views on Inna's official YouTube and charted atop the Romanian TV Airplay Chart compiled by Media Forest for ten non-consecutive weeks.[5]

In Romania, "Diggy Down" won "Best Dance" at the 2015 Media Music Awards on September 3, 2015.

The track was written Play & Win and Vlad Lucan, while production was handled by Marian Hill and Lucan. "Diggy Down" is a dance-pop song, but also featured elements of R&B.[6] The sampling of the saxophone riff of Hill's "Got It" drew comparasions to Jason Derulo.[7][8] while the entire song was described as "American industry-friendly".[7] While "Diggy Down" is composed in a tempo of 82 beats per minute, it lyrically speaks about a love story between Inna and her unidentified boyfriend. She tells him that she likes the way that he moves and that she is "diggy down" for whatever he wants.[7]

Music video

A scene from the video portrays Inna mirrored and wearing a white dress, which has similarities to a religious habit.

The music video for "Diggy Down" premiered on Inna' s official YouTube on December 9, 2014.[9] It was directed late 2014 in Bucharest, Romania by Michael Mircea, with John Perez being the director of photography.[10]

The clip starts with two water drops dropping into bubbling water. We are then introduced to burning fire. After the two words "Diggy" and "Down" appear written white on the screen, Inna is seen dressing a white dress, which has similarities to a habit. Subsequently, her hair is styled to a Bob cut and she is wearing a golden sparkling top and accessories. She is standing in front of the burning fire previously showed. Next, a shadowed man performs tribal moves while sporting black boxer shorts. Simultaneously, Inna is doing hand movements dressing a symmetrical leotard. The next scene features her touching and putting an Anaconda over her shoulders. The video ends with Inna walking away, dressed in the habit outfit previously showed. Nearly all the scenes in the track's clip are duplicated and mirrored, so the screen shows Inna and the male background dancer being symmetrial.

The music video became one of Inna's most successful clips on the Romanian TV music channels, reaching number one on the weekly songs-on-TV chart compiled by Media Forest, on February 9, 2015, staying there for ten non-consecutive weeks.[5] It gathered over 40,000,000 views on YouTube. The music video for the remix version featuring additional vocals from Puerto Rican reggaeton singer Yandel was premiered on May 11, 2015.[11]
