Dumarkunda is a census town in Nirsa CD Block in Dhanbad district in the state of Jharkhand, India.

Demographics

As per 2011 Census of India Dumarkunda had a population of 11,434, of which 5,970 were males and 5,464 females. Scheduled Castes numbered 4,083 and Scheduled Tribes numbered 686.[1]

As of 2001 India census,[2] Dumarkunda had a population of 10,980. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Dumarkunda has an average literacy rate of 52%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 63% and, female literacy is 39%. In Dumarkunda, 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Literacy

As per 2011 census the total number of literates in Dumarkunda was 6,401 out of which 3,883 were males and 2,518 were females.[1]
