As of 2001 India census,[1] Tisra had a population of 53,547. Males constitute 56% of the population and females 44%. Tisra has an average literacy rate of 58%, lower than the national average of 59.5%. The male literacy rate is 68%, and female literacy literacy rate is 44%.
