Sahnidih is a census town in Baghmara CD Block in Dhanbad district in the Indian state of Jharkhand.

Demographics

As per 2011 Census of India Sahnidih had a population of 6,777, of which 3,568 males and 3,209 females. Scheduled Castes numbered 1,990 and Scheduled Tribes numbered 206.[1]

As of 2001 India census,[2] Sahnidih had a population of 5,802. Males constitute 55% of the population and females 45%. Sahnidih has an average literacy rate of 61%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 71%, and female literacy is 49%. In Sahnidih, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Literacy

As per 2011 census the total number of literates in Sahnidih was 4,578 out of which 2,673 were males and 1,905 were females.[1]
