ELEAGUE is an upcoming professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive league to be broadcast in Summer 2016 on TBS. On September 24, 2015 Turner Broadcasting announced that it was partnering with talent agency WME/IMG for a new esports project.[1] The league will feature 24 teams from across the world to compete in two 10-week league seasons annually,[1] which includes a regular season, playoffs, and a championship.[2] Sources at Turner say there are no plans to lock teams into exclusivity, unlike the Championship Gaming Series, a previous attempt in 2006-2008 to bring professional video games to television in the United States.[1] No dates have been announced yet but it has been announced that matches will be on Friday nights.[3] The broadcast will simultaneously be available on online streaming services.[4] Matches will occur at Turner studios in Atlanta, Georgia, United States.[5][6] Esports programming is planned to be part of a revamped TBS.[7] The name "ELEAGUE" was official unveiled on December 4, 2015.[8]

There will be a total of 24 teams competing in the league and it will offer $1,200,000 USD in prize money per season.[8] It will debut on May 24, 2016.

Turner will be partnering with online streaming services to bring additional video content.[9] One such program will feature the Renegades' move from Australia to the United States. Additional content will be available on Bleacher Report's Team Stream App.[4]

The first season's full team list was announced on April 21, 2016.[10]
