Force is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Ascoli Piceno in the Italian region Marche, located about 70 kilometres (43 mi) south of Ancona and about 15 kilometres (9 mi) northwest of Ascoli Piceno.Force is Part of the community Montana of the Sibillini mountains.
The name of "Force" derive from "pitchfork" as it is located between the Aso valley, that of the Tesino and Tronto. The settlement dates back to the fifth century A.D. because of the barbarian invasions the peoples of neighboring countries, they found shelter because of its strategic position from a defensive point of view. Very important is the processing of copper that seems to have been rooted by monks Farfensi or gypsy tribes that settled in the territory forcese. The language that these artisans have developed is the "Baccaiamento Forcese," language which is no longer spoken.
Monuments and places of interest
Cottage Verrucci: special construction which is outside the walls of the village, built around 1936 by the architect Ernesto Verrucci Bey.
Convent of the Blessed Maria Assunta Pallotta is the birthplace of the blessed, where today there are the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary, the order to which belonged the blessed Assunta Pallotta.
