Gajwel is a town and mandal in the Medak district of Telangana, India.[1] It is located about 64 km from the state capital Hyderabad. Gajwel -Pregnapur town is constituted as Nagara Panchayath Gajwel-Pregnapur in the year the 2012, Duly merging (3) surrounding villages namely Pregnapur, Mutrajpally, Kyasaram of Medak district. The population of the town is close to 45000.
Politics
Gajwel Assembly constituency is a constituency of Telangana Legislative Assembly, India.It is one of 10 constituencies in Medak district.[2] It consists of 6 mandals: Toopran, Kondapak, Gajwel, Jagadevpur, wargal and Mulug. J. B. Muthyal Rao is the First MLA of Gajwel. Gajwel Saidaiah won 4 times from 1962-1978. Telangana first Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao is MLA from Gajwel seat.
