Gessate is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Milan in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 25 kilometres (16 mi) northeast of Milan. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 6,496 and an area of 7.8 square kilometres (3.0 sq mi).[1]
The municipality of Gessate contains the frazione (subdivision) Villa Fornaci.
Gessate borders the following municipalities: Cambiago, Masate, Pessano con Bornago, Inzago, Gorgonzola and, Bellinzago Lombardo.
Gessate hosts the easternmost terminus of Milan Metro (Line 2, Gessate branch).
