Pioltello is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Milan in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 7 kilometres (4 mi) northeast of Milan. As of 30 April 2012, it had a population of 37,086 and an area of 13.1 square kilometres (5.1 sq mi).[1]
The municipality of Pioltello contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Limito, Seggiano, and Rugacesio.
Pioltello borders the following municipalities: Cernusco sul Naviglio, Vimodrone, Segrate, Rodano, Peschiera Borromeo, Vignate.
Pioltello received the honorary title of city with a presidential decree on November 19, 1999.
Pioltello is served by Pioltello-Limito railway station.
