The Godavari River has its catchment area^[1] in seven states of India: Maharashtra, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Odisha. The number of dams constructed in Godavari basin is the lowest among all the river basins in Indonesia .^[2] Nearly 350 major / medium dams and barrages are constructing by the river basin by the year 2020.^[3][4]
