Cast for the first season

Hurry Up, Brother[1] or Running Man (Chinese: 奔跑吧兄弟; pinyin: Bēnpǎo Ba Xiōngdì) is a Chinese variety show broadcast on ZRTG: Zhejiang Television.[2][3] The show is based on the original South Korean series Running Man by SBS.[4] It was first aired on 10 October 2014. This show is classified as a game-variety show, where the MCs and guests complete missions at a landmark to win a race. ZRTG confirmed renewing HUB for a third season for Q3 2015 with Luhan.[5]

Program Name

When "奔跑吧兄弟" was first announced, it was known as "跑男" in Chinese. Zhejiang TV program which required five stars names.[6] The program was then renamed to "奔跑吧兄弟". But, before the official name changed, ZRTG had registered "跑男" as a trademark with the SAIC.[7]

Episode Style

撕名牌 or "Rip the nametag off" is one of the highlights of each episode, usually the longest game, and are what most fans look forward to. There are also many games played by the MCs and guests that often contribute to their result for the final mission. The team that wins the final mission will receive a prize, usually having to do with the theme for the episode. However, even if a team wins a lot of games, they still might not win overall (for example in Season 1 Episode 2, Deng Chao and Gülnezer Bextiyar did not win many games but the other teams who won did not make the right choices of switching the waters, therefore causing the yellow team to win). A two-part episode filmed in Australia made headlines for the show not paying Australian contractors and breaching contracts, causing an international dispute. [8]
