Lab Tests Online
Lab Tests Online is a peer-reviewed, patient-centered, non-profit web resource about clinical laboratory testing.[1][2][3] The site provides information on clinical lab tests as well as conditions that are managed or diagnosed by lab tests.[4] Lab Tests Online also provides summaries of recommendations by age, feature articles on lab-related topics, and news items of patient interest.[5] All contents are reviewed and approved by an Editorial Review Board composed of laboratory professionals before being posted to the site.[2]
The site was launched in 2001[6] by the American Association for Clinical Chemistry,[7] the scientific society for clinical laboratory science[8] and is a collaboration of 17 other professional societies representing the laboratory medicine community.[9] The website is available through 17 sites worldwide and via mobile apps in the U.S., the U.K. and Australasia.[10]
As of 2012 the site received about 2 million viewers a month.[11]
