The Great Midwest Athletic Conference will begin sponsorship of football in 2017 with current members Alderson Broaddus and Kentucky Wesleyan. Malone will join the conference in 2016 in all sports except football, which will play the 2016 season as an independent before joining the rest of its teams in the G-MAC. Findlay, Hillsdale College, Lake Erie College, Ohio Dominican, and Walsh will join in 2017 to complete the moves giving the G-MAC eight teams for the debut season.

  6. Humboldt State — GNAC Affiliate Member / Primary: California Collegiate Athletic Association.
  7. Kentucky Wesleyan College — Independent / Primary: Great Midwest Athletic Conference.
  8. Limestone College — Independent / Primary: Conference Carolinas.
  9. Lincoln (MO) — GLVC Affiliate Member / Primary: Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association.
  10. Long Island–Post — NE-10 Affiliate Member / Primary: East Coast Conference.
  11. Malone — Independent / Primary: Great Midwest Athletic Conference.
