Miss World Philippines is the national franchise of the Miss World pageant in the Philippines and selects the country's representative to the said pageant. CQ Global Quest Inc., managed by Cory Quirino, acquired the franchise on January 25, 2011. Prior to Miss World Philippines, the title was awarded through the Miss Republic of the Philippines pageant from 1966 to 1976, then by Mutya ng Pilipinas Organization through Mutya ng Pilipinas pageant from 1977 to 1991, and by Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. through the Binibining Pilipinas pageant from 1992 to 2010.[1]

The pageant is inspired by the Miss World Ltd.'s slogan "Beauty with a Purpose" and henceforth adopted the theme "Beauty in Giving." The winner and her court work with charities that benefit children in need and also join movements of supporting women and children's rights and many more advocacies.[2]

The current Miss World Philippines is Hillarie Parungao of Solano. She represented the Philippines in the Miss World 2015 held on December 19, 2015 in Sanya, China PR and placed Top 11.

The pageant was conceived on January 25, 2011 when the franchise that was previously held by Binibining Pilipinas was awarded by Julia Morley, Chair and CEO of Miss World Limited, to Cory Quirino, a Filipino tri-media personality. Quirino now currently serves as the exclusive licensee and national director for the Philippines.[3]

Morley, who personally awarded the franchise to Cory Quirino in Manila, clarified that she has no intention to offend Stella Araneta, the head of the Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc.. Her decision to hold an individual Miss World contest in the Philippines was to focus more on the organization's vision, which is to raise fund for their beneficiaries and they can only do this if they will hold a separate contest.[2]

The pageant was officially launched on March 23, 2011 at the SMDC Showroom at the SM Mall of Asia.[4] [5] [6]
