The 2016 Ohio Democratic primary took place on March 15 in the U.S. state of Ohio as one of the Democratic Party's primaries ahead of the 2016 presidential election.

On the same day, the Democratic Party held primaries in Florida, Illinois, Missouri and North Carolina, while the Republican Party held primaries in the same five states, including their own Ohio primary, plus the Northern Mariana Islands.

Hillary Clinton did very well throughout the state of Ohio, winning by more than 160,000 votes. Turnout was pretty high for a primary election; just above half as many people voted as in 2008. Clinton did well in most rural and urban areas. Of the 1,259,620 who voted Clinton in 2008, 679,264 stayed true; about 54% rounding up.
