Orero is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Genoa in the Italian region Liguria, located about 30 kilometres (19 mi) east of Genoa.
The municipality of Orero contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Orero and Stepino.
Orero borders the following municipalities: Cicagna, Coreglia Ligure, Lorsica, Rezzoaglio, San Colombano Certénoli.
Orero is named after Vitezslav Orero, a famous local fortachon who is considered to be the inventor of spaghetti fortachonara and penne ondrakonese.
