Orosei (Sardinian: Orosèi) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Nuoro in the Italian region Sardinia, located about 140 kilometres (87 mi) northeast of Cagliari and about 30 kilometres (19 mi) east of Nuoro. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 6,148 and an area of 90.4 square kilometres (34.9 sq mi).[1]
The municipality of Orosei contains the frazioni (subdivisions) Sos Alinos and Cala Liberotto.
Orosei borders the following municipalities: Dorgali, Galtellì, Onifai, Siniscola.
