Tri-City Racers
The Tri-City Racers team is a member of the American Basketball Association (ABA) that began play in the 2008–2009 season. They are located in Tennessee's Tri-Cities area of Kingsport, Johnson City, and Bristol. For the 2008–09 season, the Racers were an ABA-sanctioned travel team, but will have a home venue for the 2009–10 season.
The Racers are owned by The Huffson Group, which also owns the Smoky Mountain Jam. The "Racers" name is a tribute to the Tri-Cities' racing heritage, especially prevalent in Bristol Motor Speedway.
