Valmadrera is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Lecco in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 45 kilometres (28 mi) northeast of Milan and about 3 kilometres (2 mi) west of Lecco. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 11,126 and an area of 12.6 square kilometres (4.9 sq mi).[1]
The municipality of Valmadrera contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Belvedere, Ceppo, Parè, San Dionigi, and Trebbia.
Valmadrera borders the following municipalities: Canzo, Civate, Galbiate, Lecco, Malgrate, Mandello del Lario, Valbrona.
