The Yesvantpur Ahmedabad Weekly Express is a passenger train that runs from Yesvantpur in Bangalore to Ahmedabad, with a new station being added, namely, Barmer. The train has a pantry car and an on-board catering service, with the journey taking up around 32 hours and 35 minutes, with 24 halts on the way. The train traverses over 1799 km from Yesvantpur to Ahmedabad.[1]

The average speed of the train is 52 km per hour. It departs at 13:30 and reaches Ahmedabad at 3:45 a day later. The train belongs to the South Western zone and is an AC mail and express train type.

The express runs on a weekly basis, every Monday, arriving at Ahmedabad on Tuesday, and the return train is the 16501 Ahmedabad Yesvantpur Express.[2]

The mail doesn’t have e-catering services. It departs from platform number 5 at Yesvantpur and arrives on platform number 2 at Ahmedabad.

Service

Until 2013, there was only one pantry car available in the train. From May 2, 2014, the train number has changed to 14805/14806, and a new station has been added to the journey, namely, Barmer. The new train journey starts from Barmer on Fridays and reaches Yesvantpur on Sundays, and starts from Yesvantpur on Mondays and reaches Barmer on Wednesdays.[3]

Central Railway provides lunch on the train at Solapur, with vegetarian meals available. Dinner is served at Gadag.

Coaches

The train doesn’t have an AC 1st tier coach; it has the AC 2nd and AC 3rd tier coaches, sleeper coaches and unreserved coaches; it has second class coaches also.
