Armoor or Armur is a town in Nizamabad district in the state of Telangana in India.[1] It was recently upgraded to a municipality. Armoor is situated on NH 7 in (Hyderabad-Nagpur) Section on {North-south Highway Corridor} and NH 16 (Nizamabad-Jagdalpur).It is one of the major towns in Nizamabad district. It is known for its agriculture. Turmeric is grown on a large scale and commercial seeds like Sorghum and Pearl Millet are grown.

Total Population in 2011 census ia approximately 63,000 a growth of nearly 50 percent from 2001 census which is 40,836[2]

Language

Major languages spoken in this area are Telugu, Hindi, Patkari, Urdu and English. Telugu is the native language for most residents. Patkari (Khatri) and Urdu languages are spoken by a major section of people.

Transport

Armoor is well connected by National Highway roads NH-44(7) and NH-16. Nizamabad Railway station is the nearest railway station, 25 km from Armoor. Another rail track from Jagtiyal will connect Armoor latest by 2016.[3]
