Gornate-Olona (Gornà in the local dialect of Lombard language) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Varese in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 40 kilometres (25 mi) northwest of Milan and about 10 kilometres (6 mi) southeast of Varese. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,001 and an area of 4.8 square kilometres (1.9 sq mi).[1]
