Jean-Claude Poissant is a Canadian politician, who was elected to represent the riding of La Prairie in the House of Commons of Canada in the 2015 federal election.[1] He is a member of the Liberal Party of Canada. On December 2, 2015, he was appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food.[2] Poissant is a fourth-generation dairy and grain farmer, and prior to his election to the House of Commons served as a municipal councillor.[3]
