Shastri Sisters — Chaar Dil Ek Dhadkan (English: Shastri Sisters — Four Hearts, One Beat) commonly abbreviated as Shastri Sisters is an Indian television series, which aired from 21 July 2014 till 8 August 2015 on Colors TV. The show stars Neha Pednekar, Ishita Ganguly, Sonal Vengurlekar and Pragati Chourasiya^[2][3] as the sisters. The story of the show revolves around the life of four sisters as they make their journey from Kanpur to Delhi.

It was dubbed in Telugu as Manam and airs on Gemini TV.^[4][5]

Plot summary

Shastri Sisters is a story of four sisters Alka (Neha pednekar), Anushka (Ishita Ganguly), Devyani (Sonal Vengurlekar) and Piya (Pragati Chourasiya) who live with their father Narayan Shastri (Rajesh Jais) in Kanpur. Alka is in love with a guy named Rajiv (Sumit Verma). Narayan gets a job transfer so the family moves to Delhi. There they rent an the upper story of Shastri-ji's friend Surinder Sareen's (Gireesh Sahedev) house. The Sareen family consists of Surinder, his wife Mintakshi aka Minty, and their sons Neel (Sumit Bhardwaj) and Rajat (Vijeyndra Kumeria) who is a fighter pilot in Indian Air Force and enters the show later.

Minty and Neel don't like the sisters and try to throw them out of the house but fail. Soon Shastri-ji fixes Alka's marriage with Rohan (Sujay Reu). Alka's ex love Rajiv comes to Delhi to be with her, but Alka realises that he is not good for her and she marries Rohan.

Meanwhile Rajat comes home and Devyani falls into love at first sight with him. Later on Rajat falls in love with Anushka and Anushka also falls for him. Meanwhile Neel falls in love with Devyani and proposes her. Devyani politely rejects him. Neel gets heartbroken and tries to commit suicide but is saved. Minty starts to hate the sisters and plans to take Neel's revenge. She creates misunderstandings and gets Devyani and Rajat engaged. Anu and Rajat are unhappy with this. Later Rajat learns the reality, breaks his engagement with Devyani, and expresses his love for Anushka. Devyani agrees, but Anu denies engagement to him as Devyani still loves him.

Then enters Karishma (Swati Kumar) who was Rajat's college friend and loves him. She creates misunderstandings between Anu and Rajat with Aastha's (Shraddha Jaiswal) help. Aastha is Rohan's bhabi and enemy of the sisters. Jealous of Anu, Karishma steals an important CD from Rajat's office and hides it in Anu's cupboard. Rajat's head officers find the CD in Anu's room. Rajat gets suspended from duty and considers anu responsible for this. Karishma's father saves Rajat on the term that he marries Karishma. Rajat under pressure agrees but on their marriage day due to misunderstandings Anu and Rajat marry.

With Neel's help, Anu and Devyani prove Karishma guilty. Anu and Rajat's marriage preparations start. Due to Minty's harsh words, Shastri-ji has a heart attack and asks Anu not to marry Rajat. He asks her to marry Veer (Sudeep Sahir) who is Rajat's childhood friend. When he learns that Anu and Rajat love each other, he unites them Anu and Rajat get married again.

Neel takes revenge on Devyani for rejecting him — he makes her fall in love with him. When they get close, Aastha records them and plays the video with Neel's face blurred and only Devyani's face. Later Alka and Anu prove that guy to be Neel. Neel and Devyani's marriage preparations start but, due to Minty's plan, Neel gets married to her friend's daughter Kajal (Priyanka Behera) who appears to be a sweet traditional young girl but is actually cunning. She wants to take the Sareen family's money. Meanwhile problems arise between Rohan and Alka due to Aastha. Then Kajal tries to kill Anu. Anu falls from a cliff. Rajat reaches on time but leaves her hand instead of holding it (actually he is fake rajat it is revealed later).

After one-year leap, a terrorist has swapped place with Rajat and is living in the family. Neel is again in love with Devyani but does not tells her. Devyani and fake Rajat get married. Anu is supposed to be dead but she is kept in Aligarh by a psycho doctor Raghav (Puneet Vashisht). Anu somehow escapes and reaches Delhi but sees Devyani and fake Rajat married. She enters the house as a maid named Mouni. Anu learns that the Rajat living in the house is fake. Fake Rajat knows that the maid is Anu. After a lot of drama Anu and Alka find the real Rajat and bring him back home. Anu identifies the real Rajat and the terrorist is caught.

Another small leap takes place and Anu and Rajat get remarried on their first year marriage anniversary day. Everything is good between Neel and Devyani and Alka and Rohan. The show ends with everyone living happily ever after.
