The Malappuram Urban Center or Malappuram urban agglomeration (UA) is an urban area consisting of City of Malappuram and its adjoining Municipalities and Panchayats. It has a Metropolitan population of 16,98,645 as per census 2011. It is the fourth largest urban agglomeration in the state and 24th biggest[2] in the country. Its major area consists of Malappuram City and four Municipalities.[1]
