Local elections in Navotas City will be held on May 9, 2016 within the Philippine general election. The voters elected for the elective local posts in the city: the mayor, vice mayor, one Congressman, and the councilors, six in each of the city's two districts.
Background
Incumbent Mayor John Rey Tiangco will be running again for Mayor in the 2016 local polls, without opponents. Vice Mayor Clint Geronimo also running unnopposed.[1][2]
Navotas Representative Toby Tiangco (who is also the spokesman of the United Nationalist Alliance party of Vice President Jejomar Binay) will also seek re-election. He will be facing independent candidate Dong Luna.
