Ward No. 4, Kolkata Municipal Corporation is an administrative division of Kolkata Municipal Corporation in Borough No. 1, covering parts of Paikpara neighbourhood in north Kolkata, in the Indian state of West Bengal. It forms a city municipal corporation council electoral constituency and is a part of Kashipur-Belgachhia (Vidhan Sabha constituency).[1]
Overview
The boundaries of the ward are as follows: Dum Dum Road is to the north. Paikpara Row and Beerpara Lane are to the east. Paikpara Raja Manindra Road and Umakanta Sen Lane are to the south. Barrackpore Trunk Road is to the west.[2][3]
Demographics
As per 2011 Census of India Ward No. 4, Kolkata Municipal Corporation had a total population of 34,476, of which 17,403 (50%) were males and 17,073 (50%) were females. Population below 6 years was 2,144. The total number of literates in Ward No. 4 was 28,864 (89.27 % of the population over 6 years).[4]
