It forms a city municipal corporation council electoral constituency and is a part of Kolkata Port (Vidhan Sabha constituency).[1]

The boundaries of the ward are: Kabitirtha Sarani is in the north. Karl Marx Sarani (Circular Garden Reach Road) is to the east and to the south. Satya Doctor Road, Sashitola Road and Garden Reach Road are to the west.[2][3]
