It forms a city municipal corporation council electoral constituency and is a part of Bhabanipur (Vidhan Sabha constituency).^[1]

The boundaries of the ward are: Gobindo Bose Lane and Suhasini Ganguly Sarani are in the north. Asutosh Mukerjee Road is to the east. Hazra Road is to the south. Tolly’s Nullah (Adi Ganga) is to the west.^[2][3]
