Evanston Township was a civil township located in Cook County, Illinois. It included the city of Evanston, as well as part of Skokie. The population was over 74,486 at the 2010 census.[1]
Following special legislation by the State of Illinois to permit it, the township was dissolved by popular vote in 2014 of voters in the district, and its functions devolved upon the city of Evanston.[2] Only twice before had an Illinois township been dissolved.[3]
