Vaishali Express, is a daily superfast train service, connecting Barauni in East Central India to New Delhi. It also has the distinction of being the fastest non-Shatabdi, non-Rajdhani in India after Bhopal Express being the first train to be certified for quality at the ISO 9000 level. It covers the 1185 kilometres between Barauni Junction and New Delhi in twenty one hours. It is the most punctual train in North India and has maximum number of coaches(24 Coaches). Vaishali Express awarded by ISO 9000 on 1 May 2012. It is one of the high priority trains in North India. Vaishali Express is the one of among four popular train to which Rail Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav announced to provide with the world-class passenger amenities and interiors in Rail Budget 2006.[1]
Journey
The down train leaves New Delhi railway station at 19:50 hrs and reaches Barauni Junction at 17:15 hrs. Up train leaves Barauni Junction at 09:30 hrs and reaches New Delhi at 06:30 hrs.
The train does an engine reversal at Lucknow replacing WAP-4 with WDP4B and vice versa.
During its journey, the train is scheduled to stop at the following stations:
New Delhi → Ghaziabad → Aligarh district → Tundla Junction → Etawah → Kanpur Central → Lucknow → Barabanki → Gonda → Basti, Uttar Pradesh → Khalilabad, Uttar Pradesh → Gorakhpur → Deoria, Uttar Pradesh → Siwan, Bihar → Chhapra → Sonepur, Bihar → Hajipur Junction → Muzaffarpur Junction → Samastipur → Dalsinghsarai → Barauni Junction
The train completes its journey of 1185 Kilometers in 21 hours.

Train Consists pantry car with good food quality according to Customer satisfaction.
Vaishali Express is also known for its huge crowd of passengers. It got the record of holding highest number of waitlisted reservations, i.e. 1586/1399 in sleeper and 768/662 in AC 3-Tier.
Schedule History
Last month in April,2015 the train was late on 21 days,it came on time thrice and was running earlier than schedule on five days. Maximum delayed time of the train was 4 hr 23 min [2]
