As the route is yet to be fully electrified, it is hauled by a Lallaguda based WAP 4 from Tirupati up to Guntakal Junction handing over to a Guntakal based WDM 3A locomotive for the remainder of the journey until Chattrapati Shahu Maharaj Terminus .
