Initiation factor
Initiation factors are proteins that bind to the small subunit of the ribosome during the initiation of translation, a part of protein biosynthesis.
They are divided into three major groups:
- Prokaryotic initiation factors
- Archaeal initiation factors
- Eukaryotic initiation factors
