Miss Israel (Hebrew: מלכת היופי) is a national Beauty pageant in Israel.
History
Miss Israel Pageant was held for the first time in 1950. Traditionally the pageant called as Malkat HaYofi. Since that year the Miss Israel is became the national franchise holder for Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss International and Miss Europe pageants. The official winner represented Israel at the Miss Universe and the runners-up for Miss World, Miss International and Miss Europe but sometimes the winner can also compete at other International pageants, such as in 1953, 1968, 1992, 1996-1998 at Miss World pageant while in 1961 and 1963 participate at Miss International pageant. In 2001 Miss Israel became the national franchise holder for Miss Earth pageant until 2009 while in 2010 Miss Israel pageant did not send the candidate at Miss Earth pageant. In 2006 Miss Israel did not send the candidate at Miss Europe pageant, due to economic problem in Europe, the pageant postponed until present. In 2006 Miss Israel decided the new format for the winners, there are four crowns at the local pageant. For the first time the second title would be being Miss Universe Israel and the official title would be being Miss World Israel.

Since 1952 Israel competes at major international pageants. Israel has three international winners namely; Miss Universe 1976, Miss World 1998 and Miss Europe 1994. According to the Miss Israel Organization, traditionally Miss Israel winner competes at the Miss Universe, On occasion, when the winner does not qualify (due to age) for either contest, a runner-up is sent and the winner competes at Miss World or Miss International. while runners-up goes to Miss World, Miss Earth, Miss Asia Pacific and Miss International. In 2006 Miss Israel changes format as the grand winner might compete at the Miss World and second title automatically declares as "Miss Universe Israel" excepted in 2013 the winner went to Miss Universe 2013 in Russia.

Between 1960 and 2005 Miss Israel was sent delegates to the Miss International by runners-up of Miss Israel pageant. Between 2006 and 2007 the official representatives withdrew, due to unknown reasons. Sine 2008 Miss Israel dropped the Miss International, in 2012 the candidate officially selected from Miss International Israel pageant. Began 2012 another agency sends the winner of Miss International Israel to the Miss International.
