Miss Trinidad & Tobago is a national Beauty pageant in Trinidad & Tobago

Organization

Began in 1963 Trinidad and Tobago was competed by Miss Trinidad and Tobago Organization. Miss Trinidad and Tobago Universe is an organisation dedicated to selecting a national delegate to represent the country at the international Miss Universe pageant annually. While the organising committee seeks to do this in a fair and democratic manner, it also seeks other outcomes including but not limited to the upliftment of women through beauty and expression.

Mission

To seek a national candidate to represent our twin-island republic at the international, annual Miss Universe pageant; and in so doing create a forum for the upliftment of women through beauty, intellect and expression.

The winner of Miss Trinidad and Tobago represents her country at the Miss Universe. On occasion, when the winner does not qualify (due to age) for either contest, a runner-up is sent. Trinidad & Tobago has two Miss Universes since the Miss Universe inception in 1952

Charity work and social groups

Miss Trinidad and Tobago 2011, Gabriela Walcott works with the Just Because Foundation, a non-profit community-based organization founded by Chevaughn Joseph and Noel Joseph in honour of their son Jabez "JB" Joseph, who died from a rare form of cancer. The JBF provides practical and emotional support for parents and siblings of children with cancer.

She has worked with Miss Trinidad & Tobago 2008, Anya Ayoung-Chee with the TallMan Foundation. The Foundation was established for the empowerment of young people in underprivileged areas.

In 2008 the United Nations Association of Trinidad and Tobago (UNATT) asked both Walcott and Anya Ayoung-Chee to be spokeswomen for the group. Both women accepted and now remain members of the advocacy group. UNATT the NGO arm of the United Nations which aims to advocate the United Nations and the Millennium Development Goals through their demographic and age group. Walcott has been an active supporter of the organization and was the facilitator of a 2008 workshop which brought together various stakeholders across the country to a discourse on the state of the MDGs in Trinidad & Tobago with a focus on youth.

Michelle Khan competed in Miss World 1995, later Miss Universe 1996.
Magdalene Walcott (Miss Trinidad and Tobago 2005) previously competed at the Miss World 2003 and placed in the semi-final.
Kenisha Thom (Miss Trinidad and Tobago 2006) previously competed at the Miss World 2004 and placed in the semi-final.
Gabrielle Walcott (Miss Trinidad and Tobago 2011) previously competed at the Miss World 2008 and placed as 2nd Runner-up.
Avionne Mark (Miss Trinidad and Tobago 2012) appointed to compete at the Miss International 2015.
