Mayurhand(Hindi: मयूरहंद) is a community development block that forms an administrative division in Chatra subdivision of Chatra district, Jharkhand state, India. It is located 30 km from Chatra.
Geography
Mayurhand is located at 24°17′35″N 85°14′33″E / 24.29306°N 85.24250°E.[1]
There are 10 panchayats and 118 villages in Mayurhand CD Block.[2]
Demographics
As per 2011 Census of India Mayurhand CD Block had a total population of 58,925, all of which were rural. There were 29,482 males and 29,443 females. Scheduled Castes numbered 15,448 and Scheduled Tribes numbered 212.[3]
Magahi, Nagpuri, Khortha, Hindi and Urdu are spoken in the region.[4]
Literacy
As per 2011 census the total number of literates in Mayurhand CD Block was 31,339 out of which 18,222 were males and 13,117 were females.[3]
Economy
